Although new to the freight-forwarding business in 2003, over the past 30 years Scott has held several executive positions within the transportation industry. Before the venture with Estes Express Lines, he spent eight years as vice president of sales and marketing with Lakeville Motor Express, which at the time was the Midwest regional partner of Express LINK. For several years, Scott also served as the vice president of the board of directors for the Transportation Sales and Marketing Association (TSMA). He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, and spent most of his life in the Midwest.
In 2003, Scott moved his family to Richmond, Virginia, to escape the cold and start his new venture with Estes Express Lines. He attributes his success to two main philosophies: “Everyone has to find their passion in life; it is our responsibility to help each employee discover what that is,” and, “If you take care of the customer everything else will take care of itself.”
