Filing a Cargo Claim

Incoterms® Rules

At Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW), we prioritize the safe and efficient handling of your shipments. However, in the rare event of loss or damage, we have established a streamlined process to ensure your cargo claims are addressed promptly and fairly.

To initiate a cargo claim with EFW, please follow these steps:

3. Submit the Claim

Once the form is completed and all supporting documents are compiled, submit your claim via one of the following methods:

Important Considerations

  • Notification of Loss or Damage: Promptly notify EFW of any loss or damage. Retain all salvage, including the freight, exterior packaging, and inner packing materials, until the claim is resolved.
  • Timeframe for Filing Claims: All domestic claims must be filed within nine months from the date of delivery. EFW has 120 days from the receipt of the claim to conclude the investigation.
  • Concealed Damage: If damage is not apparent at the time of delivery, notify EFW within five days of receipt to request an inspection. Retain all packaging materials for examination.
