Our CBM Calculator is here to help you calculate the volume and weight of your shipment and determine the space your freight will occupy, so you can plan smarter and ship more efficiently.
Whether you’re estimating dimensional weight, optimizing container loads, or just need fast answers, this tool gives you the numbers you need, when you need them.
CBM—short for Cubic Meters—is the standard unit for measuring the volume of your cargo, and it’s essential for international freight, container optimization, and rate calculations.
CBM = Length × Width × Height
Make sure all dimensions are in meters.
Just enter the length, width, and height of your shipment (in inches or centimeters), and we’ll calculate the total volume in both cubic inches and cubic feet (or cubic centimeters and cubic meters).
If your shipment dimensions are: Length: 2.0 m × Width: 1.5 m × Height: 1.2 m
Your CBM would be: 2.0 × 1.5 × 1.2 = 3.6 CBM
No problem. Just divide each measurement by 100 to convert to meters before using the formula.
100 cm = 1 meter
Always convert before calculating
1 inch = 2.54 cm
Convert to cm, then meters
Freight charges—especially for ocean and air—are often based on volume, not just weight. Knowing your CBM helps avoid surprises, optimize your container space, and ensure compliance with carrier requirements. Our calculator helps you stay ahead of the curve, avoid unexpected charges, and make informed decisions.
